The Stork Squad

Snake Road, Broward/Hendry Counties

wood storks
A flock of wood storks, aka the Stork Squad, resting on the banks of a borrow pit west of Snake Road, no doubt getting ready for the next round of baby deliveries. On the serious side, wood storks are federally listed as threatened but the South Florida population is fairly robust. Credit the nurses of the labor and delivery department at Bethesda Memorial Hospital East for the name, stork squad. PS: It's a good idea to bring binoculars with you to get a good look at birds like these.
