On the (Relatively) Dry Side

Grassy Waters Preserve, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County

dry habitat
Small changes in elevation can mean big changes in habitat. This section off the boardwalk's western side is a little higher and a little drier than most of Grassy Waters and the vegetation is different, a collection of low-lying shrubs dotted with a few cabbage palms and slash pines. Not a single cypress tree in sight.
