An elevated boardwalk cuts through the cypress swamp at Daggerwing Nature Center. Dense foliage lines the way — cypress, pond apples, red maples, wild coffee, cocoplum, even seagrape covered in places with Virginia creeper, possum grape, muscadine and peppervine. It's an easy walk, featuring an observation tower, sitting areas and interpretive signs. It is linear, but the distance isn't imposing, a little more than a half-mile one way — Photo by David Sedore
