Land Meets Water

John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Largo, Monroe County

coast line
Watery John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park extends three miles into the Atlantic and 21 miles along the coast, part of and adjacent to the FLorida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The land is a narrow strip of Key Largo, itself a narrow strip, plus small, scattered islands. The green you see are mangroves, which might be considered the glue that holds the park together. They're that important.
