The East Marsh at Okeeheelee Nature Preserve is one of our favorite spots. It's mostly filled with knotted spikerush, and there is standing water throughout. Where there is open water, you might find mottled ducks, wood ducks, moorhens or other water fowl. We've seen great egrets, great blue herons and sandhill cranes foraging here. Along the banks, there are wildflowers. We've spotted water pimpernel, coreopsis, even a few ground orchids
