Once upon a time, Gumbo Limbo Nature Center sported a massive tower that afforded incredible views of the surrounding area. Unfortunately, it fell into disrepair and the nature center tore it down in 2016. The incredible views returned in 2024 with the completion of Jacob's Outlook, a 44-foot-tall ADA accessible observation platform. It's an easy walk to the top, where one can view neighboring Lake Wyman and the Intracoastal Waterway to the west and a glimpse of the Atlantic to the east. The name honors Jacob Kosowsky, a 21-year-old Boca Raton resident who died in a car accident. The tower cost $2.56 million to build and funded through donations and public money.
