If you make the drive along Stumper's Grade through Corbett what you'll see is a continuum of marshes and flatwoods. Suddenly things change as you go up a slight embankment and turn right. You're at the M-O Canal, which stretches for miles to the west. It is the southern boundary of Corbett. To the north lies a vast, open prairie, very different from what you've experienced so far. We took this photo at the western end of this stretch facing east, where the road bends north and away from the canal. Technically, this section of the road is called South Grade and becomes the North Grade after turning northwest at this point. If you make the drive, forget the names; it's essentially the same road.
