In the Beginning: Terra Firma

Nice, dry terra firma along this portion of the Apoxee Trail. Note the thick vegetation, ferns, wild coffee, cocoplum among others in the understory, hardwood trees providing the canopy. This photo was taken relatively near the beginning of the trail. The trail gets wetter and narrower farther into it.
