This is what we call the Bluffs Trail at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, so called because it sits perhaps 15 feet above the banks of Long Lake. It cuts through a large section of tropical marine hammock and at various places affords views of the lake below. Like the Interior Trails at the park (again our name) gumbo limbo trees, seegrapes, paradise trees, false mastic and more are abundant here. The trail is an easy walk; it is a little wider than the Interior Trails and there are fewer tripping hazards in the form of exposed tree roots. It is a beautiful walk.
