The Seawall

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, Key Biscayne, Miami-Dade County

seawall path
The south and southwestern sections of Bill Baggs are bordered by a seawall and hiking/biking paths that offer spectacular views of Biscayne Bay. It's also a decent place for birding, with a tropical hammock on the inland side where warblers, gnatcatchers, cardinals, catbirds and jays might be spotted. On the seaward side, frigatebirds occasionally patrol, along with cormorants and assorted gulls. The walk extends between the southeastern parking lots and No-Name Harbor. Toward the right, you can glimpse Miami's skyline; back toward the left, out of view, is Stiltsville, our next stop.
