Happy Trails to You

Atlantic Ridge Preserve State Park, Stuart, Martin County

trail
You want to hike? Atlantic Ridge Preserve State Park offers 30 miles of trails to explore within its 5,000 acres. Many of the trails are like this, wide, open and an easy hike. Some seemingly veer off into nowhere, dead ending.Bbut that's kind of the fun. You don't know what you'll see. Maps are available at the park; major trail intersections are numbered, but we found the map feature on our phone out best guide to navigating the park. Atlantic Ridge is also open to horseback riding. Unfortunately, you cannot ride or hike into the sunset here, since Atlantic Ridge Preserve closes at 5 p.m. every day of the year. Sigh ... With a nod to Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and until we meet again ... .
